Scrambling Courses - Rock Climbing Courses - Skye Munros Guiding

Scotland has some of the best scrambling in the UK from the classic Aonach Eagach in Glencoe to an ascent of Stac Pollaidh in the Northern Highlands. If you are a walker who wants to have an introduction to scrambling and how to use a rope safely in the mountains then we can provide a 1 or 2 day introduction course. If you are a walker with little or no experience of scrambling then we at Alpha Mountaineering can guide you to success on the Skye Munros. If you have only climbed inside and want to get a taste of 'real' climbing, then we can take you on your first traditional rock climb, teach you to place gear and help you to understand setting up anchors.

Winter Skills - Introductory Winter Climbing

Winter in the Highlands of Scotland can be very hostile but with the right skills and preparation you can really enjoy your time in the hills. Perhaps you are a regular summer walker and want to learn more about walking in winter. If you have never used an ice axe or crampons then this is the course for you. Maybe you have a weekend free or a couple of days midweek, either way we can create a course to suit your needs.

Ice Climbing Courses

As a Scottish Winter Climber you will want to challenge yourself more. With the guidance of an Alpha Mountaineering Instructor you can get that experience with the knowledge that you are with an experienced and qualified winter climbing instructor.
